Today Club Penguin has raised the membership prices, only for Canadians and Americans. There is quite a big difference, so I hope Club Penguin adds more features to the game soon.

The biggest difference in price is the 6 month membership. It raised by $10!
The good thing is that if you have a recurring membership, you keep on paying the old price.
